A Lifetime of Memories

Created by Joyce 2 years ago

Jackey, you walked into mine and Jennie's life in 1963. It was our first day at secondary school. It took a while for us to become friends, but once we did, you became part of our family. We just loved each other’s company. We shared a love of cinema, theatre  and who could forget, Star Trek! You were a caring and thoughtful person and were there for all of the important times in my life; my first job interview,  my wedding,  you became ‘Auntie’ to my children,  and all my family’s children. You shared in every family event, holidays and Christmas. You loved it when we were able to attend Star Trek conventions, especially our first in the USA in 1996, we had such a wonderful time. We also shared a great holiday in Florida with Denise and family and Jennie. The outstanding memory is when you sat down by the swimming pool and pushed a fully clothed 6yr old Gregory into the pool! I remember you being ecstatic when at long last you was able to come with us to the "Shatner weekends" and meet Bill Shatner. You made so many friends, and enjoyed all the trips to Vegas, Sacramento, Oxnard,  and the visits to Disneyland. We went to many concerts together;  you loved Michael Ball and Cliff and others, and our last one was watching Cliff at Greenwich. I think our last time together was in Ashford for a family birthday. I was so pleased we were together again. We were supposed to meet again to see William Shatner at Hammersmith,  but unfortunately you couldn't make it. The pandemic stopped us being together,  but it didn't stop us sharing time talking. Jackey, you will be forever in my memories,  but always in my heart. You were a wonderful friend. I love you.
